A colleague of mine and I were asked by a customer, quite seriously, whether it is possible to email in colour.
Laptop was burning out the monitor from the middle out - colored stripes turn white and new colored stripes appear to either side of the white stripe.
DH doesn't get around to letting me know until after the warranty period has ended....
Once the middle third of the screen is no longer useable, suddenly it becomes something that has to be fixed that day because he can no longer work with word files...replacement monitor is ordered from eBay because the laptop is out of warranty...
When asked why he didn't mention this when the first vertical stripes appeared...I was told that it wasn't too bad (to work with) before and that he didn't want to loose it for weeks while it was sent back for a warranty repair.
Turned out that the overpowered graphics card burned out the new monitor, once it was installed, too. We stuck it on a desk with an external monitor until someone stole it (break in).
Had a customer call said her laptop wouldn’t turn on… I asked her if it’s charged… “What do you mean?”
Me, “It has a battery that needs to be charged”
Her, “Is that what that cord was for.”
I lost faith in humanity
